  • Financial framework
    • Cycle costing per item
    • Annualized 10 year forecast
  • Activity framework
    • Planned activities (pro-active)(deferrable)
      • Annual preventative maintenance, including monitor/inspect
      • Non-annual Cyclic preventative/restorative maintenance
      • Cyclic renewal
      • End of life replacements
      • Predictive activities
    • Unplanned activities (re-active)(non-deferrable)
      • ad hoc repairs (non-catastrophic failures)
      • replacements (catastrophic failures)

The ideal mix between planned(pro-active) / unplanned(re-active) is 70/30

In the context of a 10 year plan should the goal be 60/40 with the predictive activities phased in to achieve a 70/30 ratio
